You probably have already read through some "best of 2013" lists. I didn't agree with the ones I read, so I decided to compile Fluon's top 10 tracks of 2013. When choosing the tracks I took nothing, but my own feelings into account. So have fun with this, listen and comment if you think something is missing. Also merry Xmas.
10. Awkwafina - "Mayor Bloomberg (Giant Margaritas)"
NYC nerd girl rapping to the mayor about giant margaritas. The video is as random. What's not to love?
9. Proxy - "Cobra Combo"
The soviet jungle's rambo Proxy delivers a new batch of bulldozer bass. His tracks are kind of a whole, but if I had to pick one then I'd go for the Cobra Combo with its crazy fidgeting.
8. James Blake - "Retrograde"
This track is the only one that matches between me and the big media tops. Hauntingly slow and dreamy. Is this song sad or happy, groovy or winding? It's perfectly in between everything and the little details rock the mood.
P.S. took a while to find an embed able audio source. Idiots at UMG (Universal) have disabled embeds for blogger for this and a couple more tracks on this list.
7. Bloody Beetroots - "Reactivate"
The "Hide" album is a great as a whole and when I first got it, I played it around five time in a row. They mix edm and different types of rock effortlessly and the finished tracks are dance able, but also tell a story. I picked "Reactivate", because it is one of the most high energy tracks and the most consistent as a dance track. "Please Baby" was a close second.
6. Disclosure - "Grab Her"
One of the roughest tracks off "Settle". A Very groovy dance floor track. I don't think there's a need to introduce Disclosure further. Never mind the video, this is the embed able version of the track.
5. M.I.A. - "aTENTion"
The freshest track off "Matangi" with a fresh vibe and it blends calmness with cockiness. M.I.A. radiates vision and confidence in everything she does and all of the music is fresh. I love the 90s vibe in "aTENTion". This might not be the final version by the way.
4. Digitalism - "Lift"
Digitalism reminds me of some of my own music without their rock influences. Their tracks with vocals are a special treat for the ears. Especially this year's Lift. Their Boiler Room mix gives clues of more great releases on the way.
3. Alesia - "Jezabel"
This track sound like the dominator hanging with trapsters and doing shots in a bar. Nothing beats hard French electro groove. And they are the ones to keep your eye on.
2. Gesaffelstein - "Hate or Glory"
Gesaffelstein was one of my favorite artists overall this year. He achieves the effect which I have strived for, but with a tempo that is twice as slow.
I'm not the biggest fan of the "Hate or Glory" video, but the music is pure genious with its minimal tension and the contrast between different parts.
1. Kanye West – "New Slaves (Dj Snake Remix)"
It's hard to beat Kanye's album Yeezus. When one of the best tracks off it is remixed even harder then it's a magic combination. Dj Snake is on the same compilation with Alesia, so it's a power combo. I hope 2014 will bring more of Yeezus.
See you soon, maybe even before new year.

Can you rest in summertime?
Lovely 30 degree weather outside as I'm sipping on a cold drink and making plans for summer. It's the time to swim, tan, visit people in the countryside and to have parties. We just spent 3 days in a friends summerhouse and It's really the best place with the sauna and the pool. Most of the time I'm working on my tan and backstroke cause that's what summer is all about for me. Resting from the hard winter. Also there are some parties taking place . On Friday I organized my first event. It was a party called Beatwave with me and three friends spinning records. It was a close call as I found out about my duties just an hour before the party. Everything was okay in the end.
It's been confirmed that my track Don't buy fun was released on the Europavox compilation in may. You can try to locate a copy. 1000 CDs were given to the press members at the festival. Also I'm remixing a couple of songs. There is a remix that is finished but hasn't been released yet but hopefully will be released on a disc if not then it will be available online. Another remix is soon to be finished and will most likely be released. Already the tempo is coming down in my music, for some of the remixes I should go as slow as 107(unimaginable).
The new live show will be mostly new songs and remixes but will feature the old classics as well. I'm also looking for a female vocalist as I would like most of the tracks to have some vocals.
I'm going to spend what's left of summer going to festivals and spending time with friends. Also I will work on tracks for the new album. Take Care!
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments.

Remixed
The main news is that I finished and uploaded my remix. I remixed Heat by Mimicry.
A new remix is on the way for a famous Estonian artist not yet to be revealed;)
Mimicry is a contestant in the Estonian Song 2010 for Eurovision. This is not the song in the final, but another one. As usually(for the second time) I just used the vocals sang by the beautiful Kene Vernik.
Also I am doing a dance show with a very talented dancer on the 20th of march in Tallinn. At the Tantsumaraton "Made in Estonia" in Kanuti Gild.
In other news, MTViggy blog has this to say about my music. It's a nice surprise to find something new said about your music.
"Lo Mejor incorporates trickles of conversation, old film clips, Gameboy soundtracks, cartoon wham-boom-pows, and jumpy 4-note basslines into his laptop-driven, synth mess."
...and...
"So why am I selling you a product that can get you sick? This is also a sound that’s guaranteed to get you and your futon-bound friends jumping around. "

Dancing in the Dark

I spent this weekend in Viljandi. I was there working on a dance project for this spring. I have a feeling that it's going to be good. I rather like experimenting with my body and movement. Maybe more on the dance act as it develops.
After that we used some of the equipment to shoot some sequences that could be used in a possible future video.
The other reason was to establish contacts with a local club to see if it was possible to play there.
In other news there are two new videos of my Lives. Rather short ones but nonetheless here they are. My next live will be this Saturday in Genklubi and I will probably have a surprise dancer on the stage. But it's a secret ;) Also I finished the design for my shirt, with some help from a couple of designers. If everything goes well, I will wear it this Saturday and soon fans can get it as well. Yes, both of them ;)
I promise it's awesome!
The first one is the NWL
The other one is from the airport bday party.

K8 MOSH Ep free download

My new Ep is available on XLR netlabel for free.
http://xlr.ee/?c=release&l=en&release=12Listen to it, see what you think, pass it to your friends
who could enjoy it. Leave me comments on the Ep and
your favorite tracks.
Barthol Lo Mejors K8 MOSH Ep is served best for dancing at parties or home alone.
Friday night - a double espresso and an earfull of K8 Mosh and the
night can continue on a hyped pace.
W A R N I N G ! - the high levels of electropunk may cause euphoria and bruises.
For a safe landing we reccomend the last track, which will [almost] restore your life
to normal at dawn on monday.
In other news, I had to cancel my gig in Tallinn because I was sick but luckily there will
be the Y-Mas(my name idea) party on the 26th of december. Where I will come out with
some new tracks. One of them is a remix of my friends blues-rock band Kassidele Iirised
(kittens on butterscotch). It will be a ravish dance track with hoovers'n'shit.
The other track I look forward to completing is a track with an old hardcore sound and
quite interesting lyrics. A bit influences by the track "To the rave".
Okay C ya and don't forget to comment ;)

For the other pair I used heads of lego figures. Not the classical ones, but some piratish guy with a moustache. Very decadent :D
They are still with me but will find a new owner soon.
In other news K8 MOSH Ep will be released on xlr.ee real soon. That's is the cover up there.

Lego animation continues

Tonight I had some friends over to help me make the tiny legomen dance in the lego club.
It's quite an effort to move each and every1 of the 60 figures. I am very thankful fot the extra help from my friends. The video is about a blonde who brings the party with her, the cops stop chasing escaped prisoners, businessmen turn rave and princes arrive on white horses, while the Dj cooks some nice earcandy. We will be done shooting in september and then we'll begin editing. So the video should be out in october probably.
