Waiting for apocalypse at Manatargaq

I know your music, It's my exercise tape

For the Last Saturday we went to the Manatargaq psy-trance rave in Telliskivi. I was invited there to take photos of the rave and their crazy visuals. I took the evening bus back to Tallinn, swung by home, attended a birthday and by midnight we were at the door. I was still a bit shaky from the Friday's artsy Christmas party.

Nice to see girls with classical taste in rave outfits.

The line was long with everyone being searched and given an assessment on their clothes' level of sportiness. The guy in front of me was too sporty so he had to block the queue and argue with the security. Our clothes were party and the organizer met us on the door and helped us in. The guys behind us had a huge pastry with them and one of them was always complaining on how gay he looked with his glasses.

Dj Taavi Ilves chilling everyone out.

When entering the party the visuals were mind blowing. Too bad not that many people had gone for the neon clothes as the black lights were almost everywhere. Some had gone for the white look, I don't know if especially for this last Saturday night. I just wore my casual ski outfit.

Me, straight from the snowy slopes of Estonia.

There were three rooms, one of those was a chill out area where Taavi Ilves was playing his set. The main room was the place to be with it's massive light show and two buoy dancers.

I couldn't take me eyes of of her two buoys.

I can't recall much of the music as I don't know much about psy-trance other than it goes something like: "diggidi diggidi diggidi viiiiiiiuuuuuuüüüüt" at least that's what I was explained last time. But people enjoyed it and were dancing and showing off their glowing things.

This is almost what happened.

A friend told me that this time it was like a builders Christmas party, when usually it's mostly hippies in gowns. I guess the hippies were preparing for the apocalypse somewhere.

Didn't see the second room fill up, but the light was cool.

The shower booth in the bathroom got converted into a powder room with men trying to see how many of them could fit in at once. The only stall was also forever occupied. I didn't mind, because I've done the same thing. Passed out in the only stall and wondered why people were banging on the door while I was trying to rest.

I think someone spiked my camera because at some point it started seeing things.

It was hard sometimes because there was lots of smoke for the lasers which made the flash completely useless. Out of the 150 photos I took here you have the best. Overall this is one of the most colorful shoots I've done at a party.

This guy came to the future to see the apocalypse.

The apocalypse is coming, so the only wise thing left to do is to listen to my tracks and like my page on Facebook. If you do that, the angel below will save you and take you to the never ending angel rave in heaven or a space ship.

The rave's guardian angel.
It's been nice knowing you all,
merry apocalypse and see You in hell!

Did you miss the best party ever?

...Not yet and I sure hope you won't.
Take a shower! Because soon my bass will get you dirty ;)
The live is on the 20th November in Tallinn and where else than Von Krahl. Be prepared for another world as you enter. I will be up on that stage giving you the raw fun to dance to.
I will play after the foreign bands. First up are Zebra and Snake from Finland and the other band thinks that they are animals as well. Who are they?
you can try to guess...

iiiiiiit's Instrumenti from Latvia, two guys in Panda suits playing Indie dance.
So after they make you cry I make you dance!

As a girl once put it:
Barthols music is raw. I love that when I listen to it then I don't care for a normal life anymore. I just want to put on tons of make-up and wear high heels. Really high ones and smoke in a dimmed out room and just enjoy being vain. His music has got a sharp dangerous edge to it but gets me out of the everyday routine.

But don't believe her before you've seen me play live in full gear. A good friend of mine will come all the way from Paris to party with us. You know it will be wild, when we do it Paris style.
If you somehow did miss it in Tallinn then don't give up hope and come to Tartu on the 10th of December. As the next party will be there.

Meanwhile get prepared for the party with my:
And if you want the afterparties then follow me on facebook or blogger

Can you rest in summertime?

Lovely 30 degree weather outside as I'm sipping on a cold drink and making plans for summer. It's the time to swim, tan, visit people in the countryside and to have parties. We just spent 3 days in a friends summerhouse and It's really the best place with the sauna and the pool. Most of the time I'm working on my tan and backstroke cause that's what summer is all about for me. Resting from the hard winter. Also there are some parties taking place . On Friday I organized my first event. It was a party called Beatwave with me and three friends spinning records. It was a close call as I found out about my duties just an hour before the party. Everything was okay in the end.

It's been confirmed that my track Don't buy fun was released on the Europavox compilation in may. You can try to locate a copy. 1000 CDs were given to the press members at the festival. Also I'm remixing a couple of songs. There is a remix that is finished but hasn't been released yet but hopefully will be released on a disc if not then it will be available online. Another remix is soon to be finished and will most likely be released. Already the tempo is coming down in my music, for some of the remixes I should go as slow as 107(unimaginable).

The new live show will be mostly new songs and remixes but will feature the old classics as well. I'm also looking for a female vocalist as I would like most of the tracks to have some vocals.

I'm going to spend what's left of summer going to festivals and spending time with friends. Also I will work on tracks for the new album. Take Care!

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments.

Remixed

The main news is that I finished and uploaded my remix. I remixed Heat by Mimicry.
Mimicry is a contestant in the Estonian Song 2010 for Eurovision. This is not the song in the final, but another one. As usually(for the second time) I just used the vocals sang by the beautiful Kene Vernik.

A new remix is on the way for a famous Estonian artist not yet to be revealed;)
Also I am doing a dance show with a very talented dancer on the 20th of march in Tallinn. At the Tantsumaraton "Made in Estonia" in Kanuti Gild.

In other news, MTViggy blog has this to say about my music. It's a nice surprise to find something new said about your music.
"Lo Mejor incorporates trickles of conversation, old film clips, Gameboy soundtracks, cartoon wham-boom-pows, and jumpy 4-note basslines into his laptop-driven, synth mess."
...and...
"So why am I selling you a product that can get you sick? This is also a sound that’s guaranteed to get you and your futon-bound friends jumping around. "

K8 MOSH Ep free download

My new Ep is available on XLR netlabel for free.
http://xlr.ee/?c=release&l=en&release=12
Listen to it, see what you think, pass it to your friends
who could enjoy it. Leave me comments on the Ep and
your favorite tracks.

Barthol Lo Mejors K8 MOSH Ep is served best for dancing at parties or home alone.
Friday night - a double espresso and an earfull of K8 Mosh and the
night can continue on a hyped pace.
W A R N I N G ! - the high levels of electropunk may cause euphoria and bruises.
For a safe landing we reccomend the last track, which will [almost] restore your life
to normal at dawn on monday.

In other news, I had to cancel my gig in Tallinn because I was sick but luckily there will
be the Y-Mas(my name idea) party on the 26th of december. Where I will come out with
some new tracks. One of them is a remix of my friends blues-rock band Kassidele Iirised
(kittens on butterscotch). It will be a ravish dance track with hoovers'n'shit.
The other track I look forward to completing is a track with an old hardcore sound and
quite interesting lyrics. A bit influences by the track "To the rave".

Okay C ya and don't forget to comment ;)

Estonian national and contemporary cuisine and christmas specials

A lot of people have asked me about the Estonian national cuisine and also taken a sociological interest in the more contemporary question of what are the people of Estonia eating today. This is a picture of a typical Estonian meal.
Although during christmas time the picture is somewhat different and we can find a wider variety of food on the table.

Barthol Lo Mejor - Popdada

The book "Popdada" by Barthol Lo Mejor is now complete. It is a book about the lives of eight members of the creative popdada subculture. Lives filled with parties, DIY design, making music, love, unbelivable interior design, strange language and cafeine. Layout is done by one of the best - Martin Rästa. The critics have claimed his writing to be so sharp and on the point that it could kill a person. The book is meant for the children of the 21st century who have a fairly short attention span, so each chapter is a relatively short one and isn't present in the next one as it could be considered a parallel universe.
At the same time the first album of Barthol Lo Mejor is also been released under Robodada records. It is called "Popdada nites" and it's in the shape of an USB bracelet and packed into a nice rhythmbox. The first of these albums come on a black bracelet and only 50 of those are made especially for the true fans and collectors.
