Hey! I just got back from our trip. We went to see Croatia for the first time and I got to revisit Venice once again. My favorite part about the trip was Venice, as Croatia's season was ending and we stayed at a quiet beach resort.
Piaza San Marco at Venice. A mix of ancient culture and Venetian T-shirts and masks.
This track used to be called "Roaming Rome", but it's fit for roaming Venice and Croatia just as well - just push play.
We spent the days on the beach and playing ping pong. Just reloading our internal batteries with the sunshine. It's a bit of a shame that we didn't spend more time in the nearby town Pula which seemed like a more active center than our town Rovinj.
Having coffee on a terrace at the coast of Croatia.
Venice was as I remembered - an inspiring environment to be in. Sadly we didn't make it to the Guggenheim there, but we did manage to end up next to the biennale area one night.
The best meal - shrimp and shandy with greetings from Croatia.
The crazy thing about Venice is that allegedly 150 000 tourists visit it every day. So I'm not quite sure I would like to live in a town like that.
You want grape? I give you good grape! Our local fruit merchant at the Croatian market.
As for the night life, I had been recommended the square - Campo Santa Margherita, which is where all the students gather during the night time. The happy hours start at 6 and the night ends pretty early there, around two it's mostly quiet.
Venetian night life is not the liveliest - the locals drink in the bars and on the square.
We went to a bar which had 1€ wine on sale all night long. It tasted pretty good, but not in the morning. We also went to another bar which had a special on vodka, gin and rum as a shot was 1€ and a cocktail was 2€.
Never made it inside, but it looked like a cool TV church.
Things got a little out of hand and as we started heading back for our apartment, we got lost on the way. Luckily it was just next to a crowd of people in front of a bar. One of them came over to help us find a way and before we knew it, we end up drinking beer with him and 3 other guys on the square.
Venice from the other side.
That was the trip in short. I'm having the clips cut together so I could give you a more vivid picture of it all. I have no idea when it will be available, hopefully eventually.
Hey you!
So much has been going on that I don't know where to begin. I spent a week in Barcelona, which was loads of fun. Of course the local bars were a huge hit, but we also happened to be there in time for two simultaneous festivals. One of them was Llum, a light festival and their 3D mapping show was super. Also the timeless architecture of Gaudi really got me thinking about stuff. Sorry about the photos, as you know my camera was killed by a crazy bitch so I hadn't mastered the cameras I got to use.
Kicking it with Sponge Bob, Patrick was jealous.
Flying to Barcelona didn't go as smooth as it could have and I'm not talking about prissy Russian babes refusing to put away their luggage in the exit row. And I don't mean the Barcelona stoners, who kept pushing the stewardess button. As we were approaching Barcelona the plane went into the biggest free fall I've ever experienced. Twice! I resisted the urge to lift my arms and shout: "weeeeee".
Our first night out was on La Rambla and Placa Reial where we met other Estonians and a French guy. As we were enjoying our plastic cups of wine, three cop cars came to the square. At first they were harrasing the local guitar hippies, but in the end they reached us and forced us to leave the square (in order to keep drinking publicly). Some wandering followed which was ended by dropping an unopened bottle of wine. It was a sign, we turned off Rambla to the narrow dirty alleys looking for a bar. We found a big one, at least for Barcelona. It had a DJ playing and a couple of drinks later I met him and I got to push buttons on the mixer. We ended the night with a spicy kebab and a half an hour of looking for a night bus to get back to our place. We found a bus that stopped only eight blocks away.
Other cool things to mention. Sagrada Familia is the coolest church I have ever been to. The sun shining through their vitrages beats most of the clubs lighting systems. Also its ceiling is super high and the pillars look like trees. It really is the one thing to see in Barcelona.
A producer night in a Barcelona record shop.
Many more things happened in Barcelona and back here, but I won't try to cram them all into this post. The biggest news is of course that I will be playing at Tallinn Music Week!!!! I'll cover it in the coming posts.
"I was there, when he used to play to empty clubs, now he's playing the biggest festivals."
Hey you!
I'm playing at Patareiv this Friday. Get warmed up with the tracks from the player on the right and download them for your iPods>>>
We went on a spontaneous holiday to a deserted island. I got a call saying that I have 15 minutes to decide if I want to go. I hesitated for a second, but decided I was go. Another half an hour for packing everything and then we were ready to ride the beast in to the wilderness. The beast is a big Nissan Patrol.
There were three of us. Me, Robodada labelhead and a blonde. The beast cut it's way through the country. 6 hours later we had reached the coast. The place we wanted to go to was gated and it was 1am and too dark to do anything. So we set camp on the seashore. The wind and rain kept ravaging the tent all night long and I dreamt that naked neighbors were coming to our camp.
A deserted soviet coast guard tower.
Next morning the weather had improved somewhat and it seemed we had a chance, so we crossed the sea. Everything we were wearing got wet because the waves were so big. It was a surfers dream. As we had set up the tent again, hung the clothes to dry and began a fire, it started raining again. So we took a break with wine and stories in our tent. Soon the rain stopped and the sun came out again. The fire was still burning and we roasted meat over the hot coals. The blonde was a vegetarian.
The view from the tent.
We woke up in a sauna, as the sun was hot and high. We had a new friend, a lone seal was stalking us from the sea. His head kept resurfacing for hours, always nearby. The sky was clear and it was the perfect time to work on my tan. We ate a watermelon and turned what food we had left into a soup. As soon we had no water or food left we packed up and shipped out. This time we stayed dry. Pancakes and coffee for lunch at a indian fish restaurant in the city. We were joined by Kinkymint who had to hurry to a sushi place while we headed back to Tallinn.
"I haven't been on facebook for two days". Browsing around the campfire.
Thanks for choosing to read my blog, leave a comment and join us on facebook. See you soon at Patareiv in Tallinn!

Hey You!
I'm back from Portugal with a sunburn. I have wanted to visit Portugal for a long time and now finally I did. It was loads of fun. Portugese is a crazy language. I know French and a little Italian and Spanish, so I understood some of what was written, but nothing from listening. I especially love Portuguese rap, because it sounds badass.
I didn't want to take the train leaving the beach paradise Lagos.
We spent most of our time in Lagos. It's a beautiful town with everyone going out to party every midnight. During the day they are mostly laying on the beaches or curing their hangover with seafood. There are loads of small beaches between the golden rocks. That's where I got my sunburn. It was really hot but the water was just right. You could just lay on the water and let the tides wash by.
Secretive Dona Ana beach in Lagos.
The water is light blue and really clear. It was calm the first days but the waves were heavy in the end. The beaches are free and wearing a top is optional. It was a really inspiring place to be, I will to put that emotion into my coming summer house tracks. New tracks in the coming weeks.
People kicking it on the beach - the idea of my new track.
When we arrived on saturday night, we unpacked and headed out to find a bar. We got thrown in to a bar called Wolf's Lair. It had a happy hour until 1am with 2 for 1 cocktails which cost only 3.50. The people working there were crazy (in a good way). My favorite was Amy from New Zealand who kept adding rum to my cuba libre until there was almost no coke left. We circled the block, but Wolf's Lair was the place to be. They had a jenga challenge with the loser buying the shots and people dressed up as black Michael Jackson or a fairy man to get the people in. If you end up in Lagos then I recommend the Wolf's lair, it's a rua silva lopez 5.
Only photo from our Saturday night out in Lagos.
It's a shame that I didn't get to be at any Kuduro parties I have heard so much about. Kuduro is Angola techno with a dance that was inspired by Jean Claude Van Damme.
Leave the best/worst pick up line you've ever heard in the comments. My fresh rap track "Pick up track" will tell you which one I think is the best really really soon. Meanwhile share this blog with your friends.
To find out what I look like on vacation, read through this post.
Hey you!
I've recovered from our grand festival, I wrote about here. Portugal awaits with it's light blue water and white sand beaches. I'll be back with a tan in a week. These are photos from our nights to keep you company while I'm gone. You'll get new tracks when I get back. Make sure to like me on Facebook to get hold of them.
The competitors in the Eurovision marathon.
I've been mostly working on writing my analysis "The aesthetics of Banksy's auctioned works". I have to get my BA as it's not possible to keep studying in Uni for me, unless I have a child. So I've been working on graduating.
Three drunk girls heading to the bar.
I should start packing for the trip, but "what to pack with you" is an eternal question. The best tip I can share with you, is to pack while somewhat drunk. Everything fits and you don't worry about leaving stuff behind. My laptop weighs a ton so I'm not sure I want to carry it around with me. I'll probably leave it and record inspiration in some other way to give you the tracks when I get back.
It's time for a phone break.
It's a shame I won't see casa de musica as I won't go to Porto. It's a place filled with Apple computers and midi controllers. The computers have music software on them and you can just step in and make music. Here's a video from Fabrique who went there >
Nonetheless I intend to get some fresh ideas and to turn them into big party tunes or smooth summer house melodies. Check back soon to see what I have come up with.
You never know, the night could end with a girl teaching you aerobics in a bar at 3am.
Listen to my tracks while I'm gone and leave me comments. Tell me about your summer plans and the biggest parties and festivals you are planning to go to. I'm going to play at Mõisa Karneval in Estonia with Pedigree, Toe Tag and Tallinn Daggers. Come meet us there, sadly there's no Robotaanika Park this year. I also have tickets for Europavox, but I have to be here defending my work instead.
Me on vacation, you can't see it, but I'm in my trunks.
My stay in Rome was inspirational. The experience of living in a different culture and seeing people do things in another way really gives a new perspective on things. It could have been the sunglasses as well. For example the way they dress. As I discussed it with a local girl, in Estonia when you go shopping you say: "lets buy this, I haven't seen anyone else wear it" as in Italy they say: "lets buy this, everyone is wearing it". It reminded me watching the video that shows how the Benassi bros work on their tracks. Comparing it with how the Italians dress I can certainly see a pattern.
While there I went to see a concert by We Have Band, it has been a while since I have seen a famous band play. The Italian crowd was quite static except for the three hippies in front of me who were drinking peach vodka straight from the bottle (thanks for sharing). I liked the band and made it clear.
My new track YEAAAH!!! will be ready to be released soon, prepare yourself for the booming bass. You can hear it at the two upcoming LIVES, one in Tartu (December) and one in Tallinn(November). I will be sharing the stage with some of my good friends so the incredible party vibe will surely be there. More information as the dates approach.
I'm resuming work on the Lego video that has been on hold while I have been doing everything else. It's hard to find people to work with but I think it will be released soon. I haven't yet decided on the track that it will accompany but there will be music.
The auction didn't manage to sell my painting. Too bad! I will take the Island and paint two giant robots fighting in the sea. If anyone wants to get their hands on it then feel free to contact me.
